EDUCATION FOR HUMAN MOVEMENT
Physical education as education for and through human movement, therefore, seeks many of the same educational goals as those earlier theories sought, but the emphasis has shifted to the study of human movement as the unique mission of physical education. The human movement point of view has resulted in a new definition of physical education-a definition based on the concept of movement education as a lifelong process of which physical education is a component. Physical education is that part of movement education which has been designated as a responsible, educational program (subject) in a school curriculum. Bette J. Logsdon and associates, proponents of the human movement approach, express the goals of physical education as they reflect the psychomotor, the affective, and the cognitive domains of learning: EPL중계
Physical education should provide experiences that improve the ability of the learner to:
① Move skillfully demonstrating versatile, effective, and efficient movement in situations requiring either planned or unplanned responses.
② Become aware of the meaning, significance, feeling, and joy of movement both as a performer and as an observer.
③ Gain and apply the knowledge that governs human movement. NBA중계
Physical Education is that integral part of total education which contributes to the development of each individual through the natural medium of physical activity-human movement. It is a carefully planned sequence of learning experiences designed to fulfill the growth, development, and behavior needs of each student. It encourages and assists each student to:
DEVELOP the skills of movement, the knowledge of how and why one moves, and the ways in which movement may be organized.
LEARN to move skillfully and effectively through exercise, games, sports, dance, and aquatics.
ENRICH his understanding of the concepts of space, time, and force related to movement.
EXPRESS culturally approved patterns of personal behavior and interpersonal relationships in and through games, sports, and dance.
CONDITION the heart, lungs, muscles, and other organic systems of the body to meet daily and emergency demands.
ACQUIRE an appreciation of and a respect for good physical condition (fitness), a functional posture, and a sense of personal well-being.
DEVELOP an interest and a desire to participate in lifetime recreational sports.
The human movement approach to physical education, therefore, embraces portions of both of the earlier theories and molds them into yet another concept of physical education, based on the study of the science of human movement. MLB중계
